The article examines significant structural and cultural transformations in Brazilian cattle farming over the past three decades, highlighting intensified market challenges in recent years. Utilizing bibliographic research methodologies and comparative statistical analysis of data from key entities such as B3, Cepea, and AgroBrazil, the study unveils the configurations of the beef market, outlining the role and influence of each economic agent. It reveals a concerning informational asymmetry, coupled with ethical and structural issues in the market and related public policies. The paper advocates the imperative of redefining market indices to prevent distortions and prolonged adverse impacts on the national livestock sector, emphasizing the need for a more equitable and representative approach in the pricing system.
